💡 Updates

  • I am currently seeking postdoctoral or research opportunities in neuroscience, with a focus on auditory perception and speech production!
  • I recently completed my PhD in Cognitive Science at the University of California, Irvine.
  • I presented two posters at the Society for Neuroscience 2025 (Nov 15–19, San Diego). You can find them here.

The screen printing artwork features a stylized profile of a human head drawn with bold, black outlines and accented with blue and yellow details. The brain area is filled with a pattern of blue wavy lines. To the left of the head, there are abstract yellow and blue shapes that represent international phonetic alphabets coming out from the mouth.

I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at UC Irvine, conducting research in the Auditory & Language Neuroscience Lab with Dr. Gregory Hickok and Dr. Connor Mayer. I completed my Ph.D. in Cognitive Sciences and M.S. in Statistics at UC Irvine.

Before joining UC Irvine, I received dual Bachelor’s degrees in Chemistry and Linguistics at Seoul National University. I am also a proud graduate of the Korea Science Academy of KAIST, a science magnet school in Busan, South Korea.

The primary objective of my research is to explore the neural control of speech, with a particular emphasis on understanding the functional localization of the pathway that controls the larynx for pitch generation. This investigation aims to shed light on the overarching issue of the functioning of human language from a neuroscience perspective.
